HUET, a specialist manufacturer of acoustic and fire-rated doorsets, has provided more than 250 Chorus 42 acoustic-rated doorsets as part of the multi-million-pound refurbishment of the five-star St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London.
When transforming the iconic neo-Gothic site into one of London’s most prestigious hotels, every aspect of the building and refurbishment process had to meet high standards and pass stringent tests whilst remaining true to the building’s heritage and Sir George Gilbert Scott’s original vision. Superior quality materials were sought, and performance concerns, aesthetic values, as well as environmental considerations were deemed paramount.
More than 250 acoustic-rated Chorus 42 doorsets have been installed in the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel’s guestrooms and suites. All of the doorsets feature bespoke-finished frames and door leafs in tinted and varnished American white oak. The doors were supplied with factory-fitted cut-outs to receive the specified swipe-card access-control locks.
The Chorus 42 features a multi-layer, 41mm thick acoustic core and high-stability leaf created by the inclusion of two steel sheets. Intumescent and acoustic seals are factory-fitted within the frame and leaf, and tested to European standards for FD30.
