Interna implements second luxury container hotel
22 September 2009 GMT 17:46 (Tavagnacco)
Interna Group has recently completed furnishing the second CitizenM hotel in the heart of Amsterdam.
As with the first CitizenM near Schiphol, this innovative hotel is built using modules that resemble a maritime container.
Within the dimensions of a standard room (2.20m x 6.90m), Interna Contract created a turn-key furnishing on the drawings made by the Dutch design studio Concrete. Its factory based in Friuli, Italy, took part in all the preliminary planning phases that led to the engineering and implementation of the prototype room, making its creation possible.
The rooms were prefabricated in a Dutch factory then transported to the working site and installed in a very short time. This procedure allows for a single hotel to be built in only 9 months. The 215 guestrooms feature a range of distinctive materials chosen for their quality and endurance: laminated wood for the floors, stainless steel and glass for finishes and accessories, Corian for the bathroom appliances, and leather for the upholstery.
