3 January 2011 06:00:00 GMT
Hilton Hotels & Resorts has opened the 171-room Hilton Mumbai International Airport. The property is Hilton Worldwide's third in India, joining Hilton New Delhi Janakpuri and Hilton Garden Inn New Delhi Saket.
Hilton Mumbai International Airport's architecture is a blend of colonial design with contemporary features, reflecting a European elegance with the ambiance of a stately home. Located within a five-minute drive from the international airport and a 15-minute drive from the domestic airport, this pre-existing property is designed along the lines of a 19th-century summer palace.
"We're excited to continue our global expansion and open our second Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in India's business and entertainment capital," said Dave Horton, global head, Hilton Hotels & Resorts. "We are ranked among the top five international hotel brands in India,^ and we're thrilled to bring our authentic hospitality and premium products and services to travellers in India with the opening of the Hilton Mumbai International Airport."
"Hilton Mumbai International Airport marks our entry into one of the country's largest and most vibrant cosmopolitan cities. As we grow our portfolio, we will bring our award-winning, upscale, quality accommodations and services to more domestic and international travellers from the business and leisure segments in India," said Neeraj Chadha, India regional general manager, Hilton Worldwide.
In addition to its guestrooms, designed in different hues of wood, cream and beige, there are a range of dining options. The Brasserie all-day dining restaurant overlooks the pool, serving international cuisine. Authentic Chinese cuisine is on offer at Imperial China. The Crystal Lounge, located at the lobby level has cascading, shimmering Austrian crystal chandeliers and rich draperies.
Hilton Mumbai International Airport is also equipped with 7,696 square feet of function space; a 2,420-square-foot ballroom and five stately halls. The hotel also offers business travellers a Business Centre and Executive Floor.
