16 March 2011 10:42:46 GMT
The Radisson Edwardian Guildford is a £60m development on the site of the historic White Horse Hotel, in a collaboration between Marcol, the Nicolas James Group and the operator Radisson Edwardian Hotel Group.
The 185 bedroomed hotel will feature two restaurants, dining terrace, two bars, a spa, gym, swimming pool, conference and meeting rooms.
The restaurants and bars will be created by consultancy the Gorgeous Group, whose recent projects have included The Dorchester, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and the Savoy.
The stand-alone restaurant (still to be named) with direct access from the street will feature a Pan-Asian style menu. The look, style and decor has been “influenced by” world-famous restaurant designer Martin Brudnizki .
A second restaurant will feature a collaboration with a celebrity chef to produce a menu of “grazing” style dishes giving diners a wide range of tastes and textures.
The main hotel restaurant will feature a regularly changing menu reflecting the very best of British. Seasonal produce will be sourced from local suppliers.
The Terrace at the front of the hotel will specialise in more casual dining and will be popular for coffee breaks and snacking to al fresco steak, salad and sandwich choices.
Luxury and style was the brief for the design team working on the 185 bedrooms in the hotel. The colours are rich, warm and welcoming. A luxurious spa will house a swimming pool, state of the art gym, five treatment rooms, relaxation area, sauna, steam room and mud spa.
The hotel conference and meetings rooms will cater for events from 10 to 400 delegates and guests.
Speaking of the new hotel, Director of Marketing Linda Plant said: “This will be another jewel in the Radisson Edwardian crown and an important addition to the development of Guildford. With thirteen hotels to our name so far we have taken some of the best elements from our portfolio to deliver stylish, comfortable, enjoyable spaces and experiences. We believe that the hotel will be as popular with the local community
as it will be with visitors to the city.”
