Russell Sage has recently completed designs for The Savoy Grill and The Zetter Townhouse. If it weren’t for Gordon Ramsay’s presence in the kitchen, his ideal hotel stay would be a quiet affair.

Neemrana Fort Palace in Rajasthan.
How did you get here?
First Class on British Airways, although I don’t know enough about First Class to say which seat.
Who are you sharing your room with?
No-one – total silence please!
Is there anything you would like waiting for you in your room on arrival?
Peace and quiet please!
Who’s at the concierge desk?
The concierge from The Goring Hotel.
And the owner / manager?
Definitely Chris Corbin and Jeremy King from The Wolseley.

Who designed it?
It wasn’t designed, it just evolved authentically over thousands of years.
What’s the restaurant / bar like?
I love the atmosphere and the team that was created at The Savoy Grill recently, and the cocktails that Tony Conigliari at 69 Colebrook Row designed for our recently opened Zetter Townhouse.
Who are you dining with this evening?
Ideally, I’d be alone in bed with a boxset of Thirty Rock, but if pushed...

Yes, a fantastic bottle of vintage champagne and an amazing heavy pudding wine.
What music is on the iPod on your in-room docking station?
Weirdly, I never listen to music!
