The growth of Areen Hospitality, a London-based interior design practice specialising in commercial hospitality design, continues to gather pace with the key appointment of architect Shiraz Kidwai to represent the company in India.
This appointment responds to a rapidly expanding hotel sector in India and demonstrates Areen’s commitment to satisfy this market’s appetite for specialist design and procurement services within the hospitality sector. He will be based in India and draw on considerable local experience, liaising with clients, developers, drawing offices and contractors in order to pioneer Areen’s strategic expansion within the Indian hospitality market.
Kidwai is a RIBA certified architect with over 10 years experience working in both India and the UK, and was previously a partner in John Clark & Associates and Hoxton & Urban. He has worked on a diverse range of projects, including the interior design of Dubai International Airport and the redevelopment of the British High Commission buildings in New Delhi, as well as numerous retail outlets for Marks and Spencer India. Applying his vast experience and knowledge of the marketplace, Shiraz will play an integral role in both enhancing and expanding Areen Hospitality’s presence in India.
Andrew Linwood, Head of Design, Areen Hospitality, comments: “We are delighted to welcome Shiraz to our ever-growing team and are confident that he will be able to make a very positive contribution to the practice. His experience in the India marketplace makes him essential to our on-going expansion in growing sectors.”
Areen’s interiors for Swissôtel Bangalore are nearing completion for an early 2013 opening. Their design features a distinct Indian influence, fusing local inspiration with the Swissôtel style. Areen Hospitality has also recently completed the interior design and procurement for Swissôtel’s largest hotel to date, Swissôtel Makkah, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
