Where are we?
On the Isle of Capri, Italy

Who are you sharing your room with?
My husband

Is there anything you would like waiting for you in your room on arrival?
A bell-hop to take care of the Vespa I just rented at the harbour, a glass of Prosecco to enjoy while I am waiting for my luggage, and a masseuse that will take care of my tired back from travelling.

Who’s at the concierge desk?
George Clooney

And the owner / manager?
Ian Schrager – always several steps ahead of knowing what his guests want.

Describe your room...
The interior is wide open, light and breezy, with big stone slabs to cool you off on a hot summer’s day. The walls have an amazing mixture of plaster and glazing so it almost looks transparent when the light hits it. The furniture is very tailored looking with splashes of saturated magenta, greens and purples. My bathroom is warm and soothing, I can slide the glass doors open so the breeze will gently flow into the room while I am philosophising in the white spoon bathtub with a view of the ocean, or I could opt to use the outdoor shower overlooking the mountains.

Who designed it?
We did

What’s the view like?
The ocean has that amazing blue tranquility about it. On the other side of the water you see glimpses of the Amalfi Coast. Right below us the sleepy little village of Ana Capri is waking up, you can smell the morning espresso and feel the energy building up for an exciting new day.

Who are you dining with this evening?
1.    Richard Branson
2.    Wu Zetian – the last and only Chinese Empress
3.    Santiago Calatrava
4.    Rodin
5.    Greta Garbo

Who’s manning the stoves?
Daniel Boulud, with Pichet Ong making the desserts.

And what’s on the menu?
Starter:   Oysters and a nice Sauterne
Main:      I will leave that up to the experts
Dessert:  Again I leave it to the experts

Would you like something to drink with that?
A nice earthy Bordeaux

What CDs would like in your room?
1. Federico Aubele
2. HedKandi US01
3. Hotel Costes
4. Khaled
5. Andras Schiff

A book at bedtime?
Gourmet Magazine, Sleeper Magazine, Wallpaper* and books both fictional and factual. Right now I am reading ‘Pompeii: The History, Life & Art of the Buried City’ and ‘Herculaneum Italy’s Buried Treasure’.

What’s in the mini-bar for a night cap?
I usually don’t have a nightcap but if I did it would probably be a nice Calvados.

Would you like a newspaper or magazine in the morning?
Absolutely I would like the New York Times, Swedish newspaper ‘Dagens Nyheter’ and, if I could get my hands on one, a Chinese newspaper using simplified characters.

What toiletries would you like to freshen up with in the morning?
I really like Fresh or Korres
