Andre Fu’s previous work includes the Cassia Chinese Restaurant at Singapore’s Capella Resort, the Agnès b. flagship store in Hong Kong, JIA Shanghai’s eclectic lobby, and the private residence of international actress Michelle Yeoh. He is currently working on designs for Swire Hotel’s The Upper House in Hong Kong, due to open in October 2009.

How did you get here?
Transfer from Naples in an open top Fiat 500.
Who are you sharing your room with?
The view can share my room with me.
Is there anything you would like waiting for you in your room on arrival?
A bundle of sandalwood pencils.
Who’s at the concierge desk?
The concierge from Gramercy Park Hotel.
And the owner / manager?
The Soho House team from London.
Describe the hotel building, your room and the view...
A 21st century interpretation of Ponti’s Parco dei Principi, built on the cliffs of picturesque Positano town with breathtaking views of the ocean. Ponti’s signature furniture and a palette of mineral grey, smokey green and mustard yellow to be used.
Who designed it?
Gio Ponti.
What’s the restaurant / bar like?
A laid-back high ceiling glassbox that is situated on the rooftop alongside an infinity pool. The feel is airy and light. The over rooftop will also be adorned with gazebos for lounging and cocktails. Colours are rich – burgundy, chocolate, olive and beige.
Who are you dining with this evening?
Fellini and his entourage would be entertaining enough, we may hop over to Capri for an aperitivo.
Who’s manning the stoves?
A local who knows what a real tomato tastes like and how to use a grill.
And what’s on the menu?
The menu depends on the setting and since we are at Positano....
Aperitif: Bellini, in the month of August
Starter: Fiori di zucchine fritti, in season
Main: Mostardini e polenta
Dessert: Sorbetto al limone
Would you like something to drink with that?
Iced green tea.

Not if I am in Positano.
What toiletries would you like to freshen up with?
Asprey toiletries, especially in orange blossom scent.
