Hi DESIGN EMEA 2009

Issue 20 September / October 2008

5 -7 March 2009 – Sheraton Porto, Oporto

The fourth successive Hospitality Interior Design Forum - HI DESIGN EMEA 2009 will take place at the Sheraton Porto Hotel in Oporto, Portugal on 5 – 7 March 2009.

The event for the hospitality design industry is set for further steady growth this year however, emphasis, as always, is being placed on the quality and diversity of the delegates who attend – a key attribute of HI DESIGN’s success and the reason it’s become a ‘must attend’ event for the industry.

“HI DESIGN is designed to provide a true reflection of the real players of hospitality design in the EMEA region, from renowned industry names, large globally represented corporations to the smaller, emerging talents,” says Jonathan Needs, Director at event organiser, Atticus Events, “and all participants attend exclusively to ensure the right people are brought together. It is our careful attention to the standard of delegates, alongside the unique, efficient format of HI DESIGN that sets it apart from other events for the industry.”

Senior decision-makers responsible for hospitality interior design developments across Europe, Middle East and Africa from architect and interior design practices, hotel owners and operators, and independent purchasing management companies are brought together from many countries in the region and around the world.

Uniquely formatted and very different to the traditional exhibition or conference HI DESIGN offers a variety of effective platforms for buyers (hoteliers, architects and designers) to interact with industry suppliers.

Over a very short period and in a way that maximises their time, delegates can experience new product and learn new developments/technologies, debate industry issues and above all, build important relationships.

HI DESIGN is designed to create an environment that nurtures enduring relationships, even friendships, that can set the foundations for future business. “It is like an exclusive ‘club’ where delegates can mix and share experience, exchange knowledge - even make friends” says James Burke, who is also Director at Atticus Events, “During their time every delegate is guaranteed, whether it be in a scheduled meeting, at the supplier showcase, the seminars, the social functions or anytime in between, at the very least, to make contact with every fellow attendee.”

The key component - the pre-arranged, individualised meeting schedule provides for focused, direct interaction between buyers and suppliers. In advance, all delegates select and prioritise whom they wish to meet so they are also very relevant to the individual’s business requirements.

“We also endeavour to source suppliers for our delegates if they have a particular company(s) they would like to meet, not already on the delegate list. It is one of the reasons we encourage earlier registration so that we can tailor to delegates’ needs as best as possible,” confirms James.

This year’s seminar progamme, as ever designed to inspire and create interesting debate, is themed around “Emergence” and will cover topics such as “New materials and technologies that are more than just a little Green” and “Developments and trends in the emerging hospitality markets”. The full programme will be announced shortly.

HI DESIGN EMEA and the new HI DESIGN ASIA (launching 11-13 November 2009) will be showcased at The Sleep Event 08. Come and find us in the Conference Break out area to find out more.
